Quadbrew strategy: how to solve four words in nine tries
Quadbrew asks you to find four five-letter words at once. These tactics help you use every guess on all four boards.
In Quadbrew, every word you type is played on four boards at the same time, and you have nine tries to find all four hidden words. That changes the strategy: a guess that helps one board a lot but the others not at all is often a poor choice.
Spend your first two or three guesses on information
Use your opening guesses to cover as many common letters as possible, without repeating any. ALERT followed by SONIC, for example, tests ten of the most common letters in our word list. After that, each board usually has enough clues to work with.
Read the keyboard corners
Each key on the Quadbrew keyboard shows four small corners, one for each board, in the same order as the boards on screen. A blue corner means that letter is in the right spot on that board; a striped corner means it is in that word but elsewhere. If a key turns fully grey, the letter is not in any of the remaining words.
Solve the easiest board, then the rest
Once one board has three or four letters placed, finishing it is usually worth a guess: the answer itself often gives new information to the other three. A solved board stops taking guesses, so the remaining tries all go to the boards that still need them.
Watch for repeated letters
About 30% of answers contain a letter twice. If a board seems impossible, consider a word with a double letter, such as LEVEL or SPOON.
Points
You earn 20 points for each word found. Find all four and you get a 40-point bonus plus 5 points for every try you didn’t use.
